After having observed and analyzed the world, we now have to "listen to it." The dimension of listening has become the key issue of our planetary civilization. Indeed, current capitalism is a production system essentially based on a new form of instrumental listening that produces and seeks to subjugate. Therefore, it is necessary to conceive and practice an authentic listening capacity, which I call "sound ecosophy", to transform the current desire for audience into a process of emancipation. The notion of sentipensar, introduced by the sociologist Orlando Fals Borda in 1986 and taken up by Arturo Escobar in the title of his beautiful book published in 2014 Sentipensar con la tierra, is thematized for the enunciation of a new aesthetic aimed at updating an aisthesis of the listen to the world. Ante el proceso sistémico de colapso de los ecosistemas, necesitamos poner en marcha nuevas estrategias epistémicas, estéticas y éticas. Tras haber observado y analizado el mundo, ahora tenemos que «escucharlo». La dimensión de la escucha se ha convertido en la cuestión clave de nuestra civilización planetaria. En efecto, el capitalismo actual es un sistema de producción basado esencialmente en una nueva forma de escucha instrumental que produce y pretende subyugar. Por tanto, es preciso concebir y practicar una auténtica capacidad de escucha, a la cual yo denomino «ecosofía sonora», para transformar el actual deseo de audiencia en un proceso de emancipación. La noción de sentipensar, introducida por el sociólogo Orlando Fals Borda en 1986 y retomada por Arturo Escobar en el título de su bello libro publicado en 2014 Sentipensar con la tierra, es tematizada para la enunciación de una nueva estética destinada a actualizar una aisthesis de la escucha del mundo.
