At first, the debate on jury trial gave rise to a dichotomy in which a clearly adversarial design was opposed to the prevailing inquisitive system. At later times, developments in continental Europe would be more widely received. In the province of Santa Fe, the interpretation of the Criminal Procedure Code of 2007 was heavily affected by this model dispute. After an initial stage of adversarial orientation, there was a powerful legislative and judicial reaction that ended up tilting the system towards a formal accusatory model. Los discursos en torno al modelo constitucional de proceso penal en Argentina han pasado por distintos momentos. Inicialmente, el debate sobre juicio por jurados dio lugar a una dicotomía en la que se oponía al sistema inquisitivo imperante un diseño de corte netamente adversarial. En momentos posteriores, se receptarían más ampliamente los desarrollos de la Europa continental. En la provincia de Santa Fe, la lectura del Código Procesal Penal de 2007 estuvo fuertemente atravesada por esta disputa de modelos. Luego de una primera etapa de orientación adversarialista, se produjo una potente reacción legislativa y judicial que terminó de inclinar el sistema hacia un modelo acusatorio formal.
