This reflective work arises from the conviction that the fundamental object of the ecclesiastical building of Catholic worship goes further beyond the limits of serving as support for the liturgical program. From the common ground of the profane, its essential task lies in the sensible concretion of a fundamental ‘vision’ of existence (God–I–world). Based on the philosophical trends that characterize the interaction of the immanent and the transcendent, this work is intended to enrich the most opportune paths of thought and action for the effective resolution of the religious program, contemplating its anchorage in the secular world without retracting its ‘sacred’ character. To this end, after inquiring into the primitive nature of these enclosures and their resignification over the past century −attending in parallel to metaphysical and epistemological transformations of contemporary culture− their current production will be explored through five small chapels, granting special interest to their aesthetic and symbolic qualification. This journey will enable the construction of a particular frame for the general outlook of this architecture to identify new modes of representation of the sacred in which the ‘architectural materiality’ prevails as a resource for updating the cultic memory. |

Este trabalho de reflexão parte da convicção de que o objetivo fundamental do edifício eclesial do culto católico, não se esgota em servir de suporte ao programa litúrgico e o supera. Desde a base comum do profano, sua tarefa essencial radica na materialização sensível de um «olhar» fundamental sobre a existência (Deus-eu-mundo). Com base nas tendencias filosóficas que caracterizam a interação do imanente e do transcendente, pretende-se enriquecer os percursos entre pensamento e ação mais oportunos para a resolução efetiva do programa religioso, contemplando sua ancoragem no mundo secular sem minimizar seu caráter «sagrado». Para tal fim, depois de indagar sobre a natureza primitiva destes recintos e sua ressignificação durante o passado século -atendendo em paralelo as transformações metafísicas e epistemológicas da cultura contemporânea- se explora a produção atual através de cinco pequenas capelas, conferindo especial interesse a sua qualificação estética e simbólica. Esse percurso permitirá construir um enquadramento particular sobre o panorama geral desta arquitetura, desde o qual será possível identificar novos modos de representação do sagrado nos quais a «materialidade arquitetônica» prima como recurso de atualização da memória cultual. Este trabajo de reflexión parte de la convicción de que el objeto fundamental del edificio eclesial del culto católico no se agota en el hecho de servir de soporte al programa litúrgico, sino que lo supera. Desde el suelo común de lo profano, su tarea esencial radica en la concreción sensible de una «visión» fundamental sobre la existencia (dios–yo–mundo). En función de los corrimientos filosóficos que caracterizan la interacción de lo inmanente y lo trascendente, se pretende enriquecer los caminos pensamiento y acción más oportunos para la resolución efectiva del programa religioso, contemplando su anclaje en el mundo secular sin retraer su talante «sagrado». A tal fin, luego de indagar sobre la naturaleza primitiva de estos recintos y su resignificación durante el pasado siglo —atendiendo en paralelo a transformaciones metafísicas y epistemológicas de la cultura contemporánea— se explorará su producción actual a través de cinco pequeñas capillas, otorgando especial interés a su cualificación estética y simbólica. Dicho trayecto permitirá construir un encuadre particular sobre el panorama general de esta arquitectura, desde el cual será posible identificar nuevos modos de representación de lo sagrado en los que la «materialidad arquitectónica» prima como recurso de actualización de la memoria cultual.
