Both the constitution (1921) sanctioned by a convention that took place during the radical period and the Education Law (1934) promulgated by the progressive-democratic government, promoted a new onslaught of secularism in a province whose legislation established religious education. We will inquire the bets on a liberal horizon that, although they had fleeting validity, exposed the flexible components of a threshold of secularization. The study allows to place in relevance the political cultures that settle the sense of projects and actions of the actors in various political scenarios. In addition, those political bets put into discussion the border that some interpretations erect around the year 1930. The analysis of diaries of sessions, press and educational publications exposes a network that articulates various protagonists around these issues. El artículo aborda dos experiencias reformistas que se plasmaron en la provincia de Santa Fe durante el período de entreguerras. Tanto la constitución (1921) sancionada por una convención que se realizó durante el período radical como la Ley de Educación (1934) que promulgó el gobierno demoprogresista, impulsaron un nuevo embate de laicidad en una provincia cuya legislación establecía la educación religiosa. Indagaremos las apuestas a un horizonte liberal que, si bien tuvieron fugaz vigencia, expusieron los componentes flexibles de un umbral de laicización. El estudio permite colocar en relevancia las culturas políticas que dirimen el sentido de proyectos y acciones de los actores en diversos escenarios políticos. A su vez, aquellas apuestas políticas colocan en discusión la frontera que algunas interpretaciones erigen alrededor del año 1930. El análisis de diarios de sesiones, prensa y publicaciones educativas expone una red que articula diversos protagonistas en torno de estos temas.
