En el artículo se aborda la responsabilidad de la educación superior en la formación de profesionales con una cultura y una conciencia ambientales. A partir de la Disciplina Principal Integradora que posibilita el desarrollo de la formación, la investigación y la extensión, los planes de estudio de las universidades cubanas apuestan a generar condiciones que vinculen la teoría con la práctica y a la vez aportar soluciones a problemáticas sociales. En estos procesos que articulan la práctica laboral–investigativa se posiciona a los estudiantes como protagonistas de los cambios. Para dar cuenta de ello, este artículo expone los resultados de proyectos dirigidos a la conservación y mitigación de problemáticas ambientales a partir del desarrollo de los currículos de las carreras de Agronomía de la Universidad de Matanzas y de Gestión Sociocultural para el Desarrollo de la Universidad Hermanos Saiz Montes de Oca de Pinar del Río, Cuba. O artigo aborda a responsabilidade do ensino superior na formação de profissionais com cultura e consciência ambiental. Baseados na Disciplina Integrativa Principal que possibilita o desenvolvimento da formação, da pesquisa e da extensão, os planos de estudos das universidades cubanas visam gerar condições que vinculem a teoria à prática, ao mesmo tempo em que oferecem soluções aos problemas sociais. Nesses processos que articulam a prática trabalho-pesquisa, os alunos se posicionam como protagonistas das mudanças. Para tanto, este artigo apresenta os resultados de projetos voltados para a conservação e mitigação de problemas ambientais, com base no desenvolvimento dos currículos dos cursos de Agronomia da Universidade de Matanzas e Gestão Sociocultural para o Desenvolvimento da Universidade Hermanos Saiz Montes de Oca de Pinar del Río, Cuba.
