Therefore, this article proposes to analyze anaerobic biodigestion as a generator of bioenergy from livestock waste, based on a case study in the Province of Buenos Aires, to evaluate the transformation of a waste into a product, taking into account possibilities and obstacles in a context of energy transition, distributed generation and regulatory frameworks under construction. Data from secondary and primary sources were triangulated. Obstacles are part of the process, but this technology is an opportunity in the face of the criticality and limitations of centralized hydrocarbon-dependent systems. Preliminary results state that producing bioenergy from livestock waste: i-transforms a waste / pollution / problem into bioenergy, ii- diversifies income, iii- generates biofertilizers and iv- visualizes multifunctional rural spaces. La producción de residuos contaminantes, el aumento de gases efecto invernadero, el cambio climático y la creciente demanda de energía; priorizan la identificación de alternativas energéticas para gestionar territorios menos críticos. Por lo cual este artículo se propone analizar la biodigestión anaeróbica como generador de bioenergía desde residuos pecuarios, a partir de un estudio de caso en la Provincia de Buenos Aires, para evaluar la transformación de un residuo en producto, teniendo en cuenta posibilidades y obstáculos en un contexto de transición energética, generación distribuida y marcos regulatorios en construcción. Se triangularon datos de fuentes secundarias y primarias. Los obstáculos forman parte del proceso, pero esta tecnología es una oportunidad frente a la criticidad y limitaciones de los sistemas centralizados dependientes de hidrocarburos. Los resultados preliminares, enuncian que producir bioenergía a partir de residuos pecuarios: i-transforma un residuo/contaminación/problemática en bioenergía, ii- diversifica los ingresos, iii- genera biofertilizantes y iv- visualiza espacios rurales multifuncionales.
