Sumario:The interest on the daily bureaucratic practices, the daily chore of the State and its personification has permeated and renewed, in recent years, the debate in Social Sciences. The objective of this article is to analyze the implementation of the program "El Estado en tu barrio", in the city of Mar del Plata, in the period 2016-2019, identifying the strategies deployed by its functionaries and the representations they build about the State proximity. The research is based on a qualitative research design of a descriptive exploratory type. The interviews made to the program's agents allow us to notice that the implementation in the territory implies the deploy of diverse practices that exceed the public politic's objectives pursued by the public politic. In their daily meetings with the beneficiaries of the program, the agents produce and reproduce notions linked to State proximity. The making up of those notions depends on the self-conception about the State and the public politics, previous work trajectories and, to a larger extent, on the level of involvement in the life situations of the users.
