The objective of this article is to analyze the implementation of the program "El Estado en tu barrio", in the city of Mar del Plata, in the period 2016-2019, identifying the strategies deployed by its functionaries and the representations they build about the State proximity. The research is based on a qualitative research design of a descriptive exploratory type. The interviews made to the program's agents allow us to notice that the implementation in the territory implies the deploy of diverse practices that exceed the public politic's objectives pursued by the public politic. In their daily meetings with the beneficiaries of the program, the agents produce and reproduce notions linked to State proximity. The making up of those notions depends on the self-conception about the State and the public politics, previous work trajectories and, to a larger extent, on the level of involvement in the life situations of the users. El interés por las prácticas burocráticas cotidianas, el quehacer diario del Estado y su personificación ha permeado y renovado, en los últimos años, los debates en las ciencias sociales. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar la implementación del programa “El Estado en tu barrio” en la ciudad de Mar del Plata en el período 2016-2019, identificando las estrategias que despliegan los funcionarios del programa y las representaciones que construyen en torno a la proximidad estatal. La investigación se sustenta en un diseño de investigación cualitativo de tipo exploratorio descriptivo. Las entrevistas realizadas a los agentes del programa permiten dar cuenta que la implementación en el territorio implica el despliegue de diversas prácticas que exceden los objetivos de política pública perseguidos por el programa. En sus contactos cotidianos con los beneficiarios los agentes producen y reproducen nociones vinculadas con la proximidad estatal. La elaboración de estas últimas depende de la propia concepción acerca del Estado y las políticas públicas, trayectorias laborales previas y, en mayor medida, del grado de involucramiento en las situaciones de vida de los usuarios.
