This article is necessary to share practices that generate a great impact on institutions, with sensations that are difficult to quantify and measure. At the same time, the sensations are not enough to sustain the management of internationalization over time as it is being carried out. In universities there are substantive, established and agreed functions, such as Teaching, Research and Extension. On the other hand, there are transversal functions such as the Editorial, the Library, and Virtuality. In this line, and with capital letters, Internationalization should be. In summary, it is proposed to bear witness to what has been done so far while highlighting the needs for the times to come. While we yearn for comprehensive internationalization and strive for institutional internationalization, we do, without blushing, artisanal internationalization. Esta experiencia de gestión evidencia una década al frente de la coordinación de una oficina de Relaciones Internacionales en una de las universidades argentinas creadas en el Siglo XXI, las llamadas Universidades del Bicentenario. Este relato es necesario para compartir prácticas que generan un gran impacto en las instituciones, con sensaciones difíciles de cuantificar y medir. Al mismo tiempo, las buenas sensaciones no alcanzan para sostener en el tiempo la gestión de la internacionalización tal como se lleva adelante. En las universidades existen funciones sustantivas, archiestablecidas y consensuadas, como la Enseñanza, la Investigación y la Extensión. Por otro lado, hay funciones transversales como la Editorial, la Biblioteca, la Virtualidad. En este renglón, y con mayúsculas, debería estar la Internacionalización. En síntesis, se propone dar testimonio de lo hecho hasta aquí al tiempo que evidenciar las necesidades para los tiempos venideros. Mientras anhelamos una internacionalización integral y bregamos por una internacionalización institucional, hacemos, sin sonrojarnos, internacionalización artesanal.
