description Museums are important didactic resources that allow us to look for different ways of bringing history to our students and encouraging significant learning in them, but they are rarely used. Why is it a disused resource? Is it considered an old way? The following research work will focus on a School Museum, the Museo Regional Salesiano (MRS) of the City of Rawson, province of Chubut, created in 1941 and organized by 6th grade students of the Primary Level of the Don Bosco Institute, together to his teacher, the teacher José Morell. Despite the long history within the school (82 years) and the recognized importance of museums as educational resources, Secondary Level teachers rarely resort to it, that is, although they do not have to go through the bureaucracy that implies an educational output (project, insurance, transport, authorizations, etc.) they do not use it regularly. What are the advantages of using it as a teaching resource? Is it attractive to students? Why don't teachers use the MRS when teaching? What is this lack of articulation due to? Is it possible to think of strategies that show the benefits that museums offer?

Los museos son importantes recursos didácticos que nos permiten buscar modos diferentes de acercar la historia a nuestros estudiantes y de alentar aprendizajes significativos en ellos, pero en pocas ocasiones se lo utiliza ¿Por qué es un recurso en desuso? ¿Se lo considera una forma de enseñanza-aprendizaje antigua? El siguiente trabajo se centra en la realidad de un museo escolar, el Museo Regional Salesiano (MRS) de la Ciudad de Rawson, provincia del Chubut, creado en el año 1941 y organizado por estudiantes de 6to grado del Nivel Primario del Instituto Don Bosco, junto a su docente el maestro José Morell. A pesar de la larga trayectoria dentro del colegio (82 años) y de la importancia de estos espacios como recursos educativos, los actuales docentes del Nivel Secundario recurren en pocas ocasiones a él, es decir que, si bien no deben pasar por la burocracia que implica una salida educativa (proyecto, seguros, transporte, autorizaciones, etc.) no lo utilizan habitualmente. ¿Cuáles son las ventajas de utilizarlo como recurso didáctico? ¿Resulta atractivo para los estudiantes? ¿Por qué los profesores no utilizan el MRS a la hora de dar clases? ¿Qué factores influyen en la desconexión? ¿Es posible pensar en estrategias que muestren los beneficios que ofrecen los museos?
