Based on the background information reviewed and a first approach to the field, it is possible to consider that the place assigned to the psychopedagogue does not have clear definitions, consequently, their incorporation into the health system does not materialize and, in the few cases in which it occurs, their place is not guaranteed as part of the staff, nor the possibility of entering the services. In addition, it is notorious for the absence of a comprehensive approach in psychopedagogy as a service in the field of public health in its preventive, diagnostic and treatment aspects. It is so that while there are populations in a state of vulnerability that present learning disabilities, they are not able to find answers neither in the educational nor in the health systems. This article seeks, therefore, to problematize and debate the place occupied by professionals in psychopedagogy in the functional structure of the public health system in the province of Salta, based on a description of the state of the arts and the scope of current psychopedagogical practices in other health institutions.

Este artículo se enmarca en un proyecto de investigación que tiene por objetivo abordar el rol del/la psicopedagogo/a como agente de salud, teniendo en cuenta las demandas para su incorporación en el sistema sanitario en la provincia de Salta y la respuesta de este sistema frente a tales demandas. A partir de los antecedentes revisados y de una primera aproximación al campo, es posible visualizar que el lugar que se le asigna al/la psicopedagogo/a no presenta definiciones claras, en consecuencia, su incorporación al sistema de salud no logra concretarse y, en los casos en que sí ocurre, no se asegura su lugar desde las plantas funcionales ni la posibilidad de ingreso a los servicios. Se observa, además, la ausencia de un servicio integral de psicopedagogía en el ámbito de la salud en sus aspectos preventivos, de diagnóstico y de tratamiento, como así también de intervenciones comunitarias, en tanto existen poblaciones en situación de vulnerabilidad que presentan dificultades en el aprendizaje y no encuentran respuestas en el ámbito de la educación ni de la salud. El presente artículo busca, por lo tanto, problematizar y poner en debate el lugar que ocupan los/as licenciados/as en psicopedagogía en la estructura funcional del sistema público de salud en la provincia de Salta, partiendo de una descripción del estado de situación y de los alcances de las prácticas psicopedagógicas actuales en instituciones de salud.
