The authors collected the reflections produced by students who carried out their practice in the last five years. Although the requested exercise consisted of reviewing the experience developed at the secondary and higher levels, this led to considerations about university education and its purposes. The interpretative qualitative analysis of the records has allowed to recognize aspects that were conflicting for them, such as the disconnection between theory and practice, but one point in particular was significant: the criticism of the established interactions led to think about other issues such as representations of knowledge, how they are built in the classroom and, once again, why teach history today. El presente trabajo se encuadra en el proyecto “Sentidos y usos de las ciencias sociales en la enseñanza y la extensión”, que tiene sede en la Universidad Nacional del Litoral. La cátedra a cargo de la Práctica Docente del Profesorado en Historia llevó a cabo la recolección de reflexiones producidas por practicantes que cursaron la asignatura en los últimos cinco años. Si bien el ejercicio solicitado consistió en revisar la propia experiencia desarrollada en los niveles secundario y superior, esto derivó en consideraciones sobre la formación universitaria y sus finalidades. El análisis cualitativo interpretativo de los registros ha permitido reconocer aspectos que les resultaron conflictivos como la desconexión entre teoría y práctica, pero un punto en particular resultó significativo: la crítica a las interacciones establecidas remitió a pensar otras cuestiones como las representaciones sobre los saberes, cómo se construyen en el aula y, una vez más, para qué enseñar historia hoy.
