More specifically, we will address the teaching of sports with emphasis on childhood and adolescence. We have looked into the discourses and practices of two central actors (coaches and physical education teachers) as well as into the ideas and concepts that coexist in their practice, and the modes of relationship between them. The purpose of this work is to find out the meanings and sense that these actors give to teaching, the reasons for their actions and the “sport knowledge” they put into practice. It also inquires into the relationships that exist in the macro institutional level, the autonomy or dependence on them, and the impact they have on the logic of teaching in the sports institutions. El presente trabajo refiere a un estudio realizado con relación a la educación física, las instituciones deportivas y los deportes, abordando puntualmente la enseñanza de los deportes con especial atención de las edades comprendidas en las etapas de la infancia y la adolescencia. En el mismo se indagaron tanto los discursos y las prácticas de dos actores centrales, los entrenadores y los profesores de educación física, como también las ideas y conceptos que conviven en sus prácticas, y los modos de relación entre ellos. La finalidad fue la de rastrear los sentidos y significados que le otorgan a la enseñanza estos actores, las razones de su proceder y en especial el “saber deportivo”. Asimismo se buceó en las relaciones a nivel de macroinstituciones, sobre la autonomía o dependencia respecto de éstas, y la incidencia que tienen sobre las lógicas de enseñanza en las instituciones deportivas.
