From a sociohistorical perspective, this article aims to study the various regulatory responses adopted in Argentina since the 1990s. Analyzing changes in labor, tax, and social security legislation and parliamentary debates, this article focuses on different experiments for formalizing the situation of the most vulnerable workers: (1) self-employed workers, and employers and employees of small businesses, and (2) domestic workers. En Argentina, la informalidad afecta a uno de cada tres trabajadores. Es por ello que la formalización se consolidó como un tema central de la agenda pública. Esto permitió la introducción, a lo largo de casi 30 años, de una serie de normativas que buscaban combatirla. Desde una perspectiva sociohistórica, este artículo se propone estudiar las diversas respuestas regulatorias adoptadas en Argentina desde la década de 1990. A partir del análisis de los cambios en la legislación laboral, fiscal y de la seguridad social, y debates parlamentarios, este artículo se focaliza en diferentes experimentos que buscaron formalizar la situación de los trabajadores más vulnerables: (1) trabajadores por cuenta propia y empleadores y asalariados de pequeñas empresas, y (2) trabajadoras domésticas.
