University extension and the social mission of the Latin Americanuniversities were concepts recurrently evoked in the manifesto for the Reform and it was at that time when extension was first introduced.From then on, Extension has adopted different forms and, even today, a wide range of activities and objectives are included in Extension, paving the way to a marked heterogeneity of options that are not found in any of the other university functions. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to analyze, from the point of view of the History of Education, the extension policies implemented at Comahue University in order to reflect upon the role of extension, especially during the 90s.
