UNA APROXIMACIÓN COMPARATIVA Blanco, Mónica Política agraria Legislación Propiedad rural Arrendamiento Movilización social Agrarian policy Legislation Rural property Leasing Social mobilization The sanction of the law of rural leases and sharecropping, in September 1948, marks a point of particular importance in the struggles initiated, since the beginning of the 20th century, by small and medium rural producers. The new law, enacted as part of a government of popular basis that assumed the problems of that sector as State policy, outlined as a very significant step forward in relation to the demands linked to the land tenure, at the time which tended to generate suspicions among the landlords. Based on the analysis of the newspaper "La Tierra" of FAA and the Review "Anales" of SRA, we looked for the role that the diferent rural sectors took over in the enactment of this law, its reading as well as the type of pressure placed on the political power in order to encourage or discourage its promulgation. La sanción de la Ley de arrendamientos rurales y aparcerías, en septiembre de 1948, marca un punto de singular importancia en las luchas reivindicativas iniciadas, desde principios del siglo XX, por los pequeños y medianos productores rurales. La nueva ley, promulgada en el marco de un gobierno de base popular que asumía la problemática de aquel sector como política de estado, se perfilaba como un paso muy significativo en relación a las demandas vinculadas a la tenencia de la tierra, al tiempo que contribuía a generar resquemores entre los propietarios rurales. A partir del análisis del periódico “La Tierra” de FAA y de la Revista “Anales” de SRA, buscamos indagar en el protagonismo que los diversos sectores rurales asumieron en la sanción de esta ley, la lectura que de ella hacían, así como el tipo de presiones ejercidas sobre el poder político con el propósito de impulsar o desalentar su promulgación.
