THE BICENTENNIAL IN URUGUAY: NOTES FOR A NEW DEBATE

In view of the recent law that declares the year 2011 as the year of the "Celebration of the Bicentennial of the Process of the Oriental Emancipation", this exposition reviews the debates around dates and contents regarding the commemorations of the independence in Uruguay.
