Being the son of a Lebanese-Syrian immigrant who decided to settle in Coronda, his case in particular opens up a whole range of issues and problems that explain not only their adaptive strategies to consolidate in the place he had arrived, but also the characteristic dynamics of a region located in Santa Fe’s inland, which was key to the agricultural and livestock export model in effect in Argentina by that time. Enmarcado en la recuperación del género biográfico como punto de partida para el análisis del proceso histórico, este artículo da cuenta de una experiencia de trabajo abordada desde la crónica autobiográfica de Jorge Yunis. Al ser hijo de una inmigrante sirio-libanesa que decide radicarse en Coronda, su caso en particular abre toda una serie de cuestiones y problemáticas que permiten explicar, no solo sus estrategias adaptativas para consolidarse en el lugar al que había arribado, sino también las dinámicas propias de una región clave del interior santafecino para el modelo agroexportador que se sostenía a nivel nacional por aquellos años.
