We will pay attention to an actor on which there is no consensus in historiography regarding its participation: the student movement. From the identification of contradictory historiographic views on the student movement during the “Mendozazo”, we formulate the following questions: Was the student movement present during the days of April 1972? And if so, How did the students participate? In this sense, we will review what historiography points out or omits about student participation in the “Mendozazo”, and then confront these views with primary sources such as newspapers of the time and oral testimonies. “Mendozazo” es el nombre que recibieron las jornadas de abril de 1972 en las cuales amplios sectores se movilizaron contra las políticas económicas de la dictadura autodenominada Revolución Argentina. Prestaremos atención a un actor sobre el cual no hay consenso en la historiografía respecto a su participación: el movimiento estudiantil. A partir de la identificación de miradas historiográficas contradictorias sobre la agencia del estudiantado durante el Mendozazo es que nos preguntamos: ¿Estuvo presente el movimiento estudiantil durante las jornadas de abril de 1972? Y si lo hizo, ¿De qué manera participó? Este trabajo busca esbozar algunas respuestas posibles. En ese sentido revisaremos lo que la historiografía señala u omite sobre la participación estudiantil en el Mendozazo, para luego confrontar estas miradas con fuentes primarias como diarios de la época y testimonios orales.
