Sumario:Departing from the “memorial overflow” arisen mainly through orality or written words that took place around the fiftieth anniversary of the “Mendozazo”, this article seeks to return to the historical event through the images put into circulation by the academy at different moments, in order to reflect on their place in the intended narratives, and glimpse what kind of social representations they build. To this end it is necessary to return to a brief description of such upsurge, to then compare the stories written about the Mendozazo with the photographs that throughout these decades have predominantly been disseminated and recover those that have remained in the margins.
