The main aim is to account for the diversities of laborexperiences and the processes of construction of labor legislationfrom a viewpoint that involves multiple social and state actors. The"off-center" perspective of the big cities -especially Buenos Airesandfocused on social inequalities make the canonical visions ofthe world of work and the construction of labor legislation morecomplex and nuanced. Esta contribución colectiva aborda la problemática delas desigualdades del mundo del trabajo en distintos espacios delinterior de la Argentina en la primera mitad del siglo XX a partir decuatro estudios de caso. Se pretende dar cuenta de las diversidadesde las experiencias laborales y de los procesos de construcciónde la legislación del trabajo desde una perspectiva que involucramúltiples actores sociales y estatales. La perspectiva “descentrada”de las grandes ciudades -en especial Buenos Aires- y focalizada enuna mirada de las desigualdades sociales hacen más complejas ymatizadas las visiones canónicas sobre el mundo del trabajo y sobrela construcción de la legislación laboral.
