To this end, I will pay particular attention to the slow forging of his thematic and theoretical concerns in the historiographical sphere during the first half of the 1930s. This is, in short, both a reading exercise in terms of the history of historiography and an effort to insert Romero into the multiple fields of forces of cultural and intellectual life in our country. Este artículo tematiza los años de formación de José Luis Romero (Buenos Aires, 1909–Tokyo, 1977) y busca puntos de análisis que permitan abordar su concepción de la historiografía. Para ello, indagaré con especial atención la lenta forja de sus preocupaciones temáticas y teóricas en el ámbito historiográfico durante la primera mitad de los años treinta. Se trata, en fin, tanto de un ejercicio de lectura en clave de historia de la historiografía como de un esfuerzo por insertar a Romero dentro de los múltiples campos de fuerzas de la vida cultural e intelectual en nuestro país. Este artigo examina os anos de formação de José Luis Romero (Buenos Aires, 1909-Tóquio, 1977) e procura pontos de análise que nos permitam abordar a sua concepção de historiografia. Para tal, dedicarei especial atenção ao lento desenvolvimento das suas preocupações temáticas e teóricas no campo historiográfico durante a primeira metade da década de 1930. Trata-se, em suma, tanto de um exercício de leitura na perspectiva da história da historiografia como de um esforço para integrar Romero nos múltiplos campos de força da vida cultural e intelectual do nosso país.
