From the three generations of nationalist organizations, we will first examine how the bibliography studied the relationship between these organizations and the State in order to understand repressive politics. The degree of official recognition, the use of leagues and legions by provincial states, and the violence in their para-statal role are also some aspects of this text. These considerations take us to structure the following questions: Was the parastatal role of these organizations the same over these twenty years? Was this relationship exclusively linked to security forces? How were these parastatal roles connected with nationalists’ political projects? Este artículo se propone analizar la manera en que la bibliografía observó la dinámica de las entidades de extrema derecha, puntualmente identificadas con el nacionalismo, con su rol paraestatal, tomando a los casos de los años 20 y 30 en la Argentina. Con ese fin, abordaremos la relación entre el Estado y estas organizaciones, enfocadas a partir de tres generaciones de grupos nacionalistas. El grado de reconocimiento oficial, el accionar de ligas y legiones a nivel federal, las acciones violentas en clave paraestatal, son algunos aspectos de esta exploración. Estas consideraciones nos llevan a formular las siguientes preguntas: ¿el grado de paraestatalidad de estas entidades fue el mismo a lo largo de esos veinte años?; ¿esa relación fue exclusivamente entablada con fuerzas de seguridad?; ¿cuánto incidió ese grado de paraestatalidad en la conformación de los proyectos políticos de los nacionalistas? En ese sentido, resultará primordial incluir las valoraciones y acciones emprendidas por estos actores frente a la protesta social-obrera, la presencia de las izquierdas y el planteo de la “cuestión comunista”.
