Although several authors have pointed out the inadequacy of the metatheoretical proposal of The Structure (even with the 69’s Postscript fixes), we postulate that a reconstruction of the origin of this (sub)discipline is feasible under the categories of paradigm-disciplinary matrix and normal science with some refinements. We intend to show the emergence of a new paradigm as the convergence of two lines of research, one on the shape of the molecule of life, the other on its hereditary function. El presente trabajo busca llevar a cabo una reconstrucción racional de un suceso histórico, tal como lo fue el surgimiento de la biología molecular, visto a la luz de la filosofía de Thomas Kuhn. Pese a que varios autores señalaron la inadecuación de la propuesta metateórica de La Estructura (aún con los remiendos de la Posdata del 69) postulamos que es factible una reconstrucción del origen de esta (sub)disciplina bajo la categorías de paradigma-matriz disciplinar y ciencia normal con algunos refinamientos. Pretendemos mostrar el surgimiento de un nuevo paradigma como la convergencia de dos líneas de investigación, una sobre la forma de la molécula de la vida, la otra sobre su función hereditaria. Este documento procura realizar uma reconstrução racional de um acontecimento histórico, tal como a emergência da biologia molecular, vista à luz da filosofia de Thomas Kuhn. Apesar do facto de vários autores terem apontado a inadequação da proposta metatórica de A Estrutura (mesmo com as correcções do Postscript de 69), postulamos que uma reconstrução da origem desta (sub)disciplina é viável sob as categorias de matriz paradigmática-disciplinar e ciência normal com alguns aperfeiçoamentos. Pretendemos mostrar a emergência de um novo paradigma como a convergência de duas linhas de investigação, uma sobre a forma da molécula da vida, a outra sobre a sua função hereditária.
