The rise of current African states has deeply affected their way of life. This research focuses on those Tuareg who were settled inside Malian borders after independence; and how they have faced the statal neglect, repression and periodic droughts. Rebellions, agreements and finally the terrorism will be the answers to this scenario with a still uncertain end. Los tuareg son un pueblo bereber cuyo hogar es el desierto en donde habitan desde hace milenios practicando la ganadería, el comercio y el nomadismo. La formación del moderno Estado africano afectó profundamente su forma de vida. Esta investigación focaliza en aquellos tuareg que quedaron asentados dentro de las fronteras de Mali luego de la independencia abordando como enfrentaron el abandono por parte de los diferentes gobiernos, la represión y las sequías periódicas. Las rebeliones, los acuerdos y finalmente el terrorismo se harán presentes en este escenario con un final aún incierto.
