Tesone (National Institute of Psychophysical Rehabilitation of the South). We analyze them from a situated perspective, in the key of complexity, questioning them as activities in the public sphere, not only reserved to the private-family space. They are mostly carried out by women in the family nucleus -a role historically naturalized and invisibilized- whose framework requires intersectorial views, also problematizing the responsibility of the whole society and the State. We invite to denaturalize caregiving as a women’s role, taking into account that people with disabilities require complex and long-standing care. We conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the care practices of the population receiving care in this institute under the modalities of hospitalization and rehabilitation at home. We consider it necessary to reflect on the role of rehabilitation health team professionals, society and the State in order to make the care system a fully effective right. En  el  presente  trabajo  reflexionamos  sobre  las  prácticas  de  cuidados  que se brindan a personas con discapacidad usuarias del Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación Psicofísica del Sur Dr. Juan O. Tesone. Las analizamos desde una perspectiva situada, en clave de complejidad, interpelándolas como actividades del ámbito público, no sólo reservadas al espacio privado-familiar. Las mismas son desempeñadas en su mayoría por mujeres del núcleo familiar -rol históricamente naturalizado e invisibilizado- cuyo entramado requiere de miradas intersectoriales, problematizando también la responsabilidad de toda la sociedad y el Estado. Invitamos a desnaturalizar el cuidado como lo propio de las mujeres, teniendo en cuenta que las personas en situación de discapacidad requieren cuidados complejos y de larga data. Realizamos un análisis cuali cuantitativo de las prácticas de cuidado en la población que recibe atención en dicho instituto bajo las modalidades de internación y rehabilitación en domicilio. Consideramos necesario reflexionar sobre el rol que tenemos les profesionales de equipos de salud en rehabilitación, la sociedad y el Estado para que el sistema de cuidados sea un derecho en plena vigencia.
