Among the results, the categorization of people convicted of rape as manipulative, strategic and the criminal hierarchy between sex offenders and those who committed other types of crimes stand out. From this, a dialogue is held on the enabling structures of rape, moral conflicts and sensitivities that frame the figure of the rapist and rape itself. In conclusion, the need to discuss prison treatment from a gender perspective and to focus on the type of crime is highlighted. This, taking into account the contradictions and complications presented by the application of the regime of penal progressivity in the treatment of persons convicted of crimes against sexual integrity. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar las percepciones del personal penitenciario sobre las personas encarceladas por delitos contra la integridad sexual en la Unidad N°1 Penal de varones de Santiago del Estero. Para ello, se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad a partir de un enfoque cualitativo inductivo a dicho personal. Entre los resultados, se destacan la catalogación hacia las personas condenadas por violación como manipuladoras, estratégicas y la jerarquización delictiva entre delincuentes sexuales y quienes cometieron otro tipo de delitos. A partir de esto, se dialoga sobre las estructuras habilitantes de la violación, los conflictos morales y las sensibilidades que enmarcan la figura del violador y la violación en sí. Como conclusión, se resalta la necesidad de debatir en torno al tratamiento penitenciario desde un enfoque de género y focalizar en función del tipo de delito. Esto, teniendo en cuenta las contradicciones y complicaciones que presenta la aplicación del régimen de progresividad penal en el tratamiento de las personas condenadas por delitos contra la integridad sexual.
