Un ejemplo es la obra de Germaine Dulac, una directora y teórica francesa que ocupa un lugar remarcable en el panteón de artistas surrealistas, con su mediometraje L’invitation au voyage que ilustra de manera muy libre la poesía homónima incluida en Les fleurs du mal.
