description This work presents a synthesis of the documentation generated over the years in the Laguna Blanca Grande and the Fort of the same name; located 80 km from the city of Olavarría, center of the province of Buenos Aires. The documents and the material culture recovered in the different research works carried out in the area, show the importance of this lagoon as an intermediate place for rest and recovery from the journey of the “Camino de los Chilenos”; area where in 1828 the Fuerte Blanca Grande (FBG) was installed. The archaeological investigations that have been carried out in the area range from the works of Bórmida, in which he describes and defines the Blancagrandense as a lithic industry that arose in 3500 BC. and it lasts until historical moments, without making any mention of the fortification. The fort is then highlighted by local historians Arena, Valverde and Cortez, and taken up in the works of Goñi and Madrid and by local historian Paladino. These works have been continued through our documentary and archaeological analysis, carried out in the northwest sector and the back of the fort and the lagoon. From the middle of the XX century, investigations were generated from different disciplinary fields that never crossed each other, hiding or denying the continuity of the archaeological record, which reflects both the pre and post-conquest occupations of the Pampas region. It is proposed that separating pre and post-contact archeology restricts the knowledge of our past, establishing an artificial division in Pampean archeology

From the middle of the XX century, investigations were generated from different disciplinary fields that never crossed each other, hiding or denying the continuity of the archaeological record, which reflects both the pre and post-conquest occupations of the Pampas region.
