Such phenomenon can be observed in the consolidation of specific support programs for this area. The present work will focus on community theater, a practice with a vast history in our country, that conceives the State as a key actor in the dispute for symbolic recognition and distribution of economic resources. These actors have a relevant role in shaping an area that highlights the transforming potential of arts, being also articulators of many of the demands generated by this particular sector. We understand the cultural field as a terrain of disputes over the power to define belonging, recognition and access to resources, where the concept of "culture" is used in many diverse, and even controversial, ways. In this sense, community theater has disputed spaces recognized by the State, leading to the creation of different lines of support. Therefore, we are interested in investigating the disputes, conflicts and negotiations triggered by these interactions between community actors and state agents, as well as the appropriations and uses of the concept of culture by these programs. En este trabajo realizamos un primer abordaje acerca del reconocimiento de proyectos culturales de base comunitaria que apuestan por el arte y la transformación social, fenómeno que se ve reflejado en la consolidación de programas de apoyo específicos al área. Nos centraremos en el caso del teatro comunitario, una práctica que cuenta con una larga trayectoria en nuestro país y que concibe al Estado como un actor clave en la disputa por el reconocimiento simbólico y por la distribución de recursos económicos. Estos actores ocupan un rol relevante en la conformación de un ámbito que resalta el potencial transformador de las artes, siendo asimismo articuladores de muchas de las demandas generadas en el sector. Partimos de una concepción del campo cultural como un terreno de disputas en torno al poder de definir pertenencias, reconocimiento y acceso a recursos donde los usos del concepto de “cultura” son diversos y a veces conflictivos. En este sentido, el teatro comunitario ha disputado espacios de reconocimiento por parte del Estado que se han materializado en distintas líneas de apoyo. Por lo tanto, nos interesa indagar en las disputas, conflictos, negociaciones que se desencadenan a partir de estas interacciones entre actores comunitarios y agentes estatales, así como en las apropiaciones y usos del concepto por parte de los programas.
