This practice shows an ambivalent position for the business owners between a moral discourse that contests gambling game debts and a credit system presented as a service. In that balance, credit for betting game relies on trust and obligation relationships with each “client” but also to the stigma that the gambler carries, thus imposing boundaries and setting the times and the amounts of money to be returned. El presente artículo indaga la práctica del fiado en una agencia de quiniela ubicada en la localidad de Martínez, Provincia de Buenos Aires. Allí, dicha práctica se muestra en una posición ambivalente para los dueños del negocio, al ubicarla entre un discurso moral que impugna las deudas de juego y un sistema de crédito presentado como un servicio. En este equilibrio, el fiado se desarrolla atendiendo a las relaciones de confianza y obligación que se establecen con cada “cliente”, pero también a los estigmas que puede implicar la categoría de “jugador”, imponiendo así límites y marcando temporalidades para los montos y devolución del dinero.
