The hypothesis is that the novel can be read in building a revolutionary feminist subjectivity as a form of dissent against the normalizing variable “ideology of domesticity”, characteristic of the stage of modernization in Argentina. The text operates as an anomalous artifact coordinates of its time, through a double movement: on the one hand, the visibility of the statu quo related to marriage and the domestic sphere; on the other hand, the emergence of possible negotiations and dissidence in the public sphere. El artículo gira sobre la novela ¡Quiero trabajo!, de la escritora, periodista y letrista de tango María Luisa Carnelli. Esta novela, publicada en 1933 por la Editorial Tor, se enmarca en el contexto social, político y sexogenérico de Buenos Aires en los años treinta. La hipótesis es que en esta obra puede leerse la construcción de una subjetividad feminista revolucionaria como una forma de disidencia ante la variable normalizadora de la “ideología de la domesticidad”, característica de la etapa de modernización de la Argentina. A su vez, la novela opera como un artefacto anómalo en las coordenadas de su época, a través de un doble movimiento: por un lado, la visibilización del statu quo normalizador relacionado con el matrimonio y la esfera doméstica; por otro, la irrupción de posibles negociaciones y disidencias en el ámbito público.
