By moving from a system of spaces to a system of living corporality, Rodolfo Fogwill’s Vivir afuera (1998) is a novel of the turn of century that make see the transformations of a power exerted on the living matter of a new “biopolitical” subject” population, in a disturbing continuity with the repressive terror of the 70s. El “hacer vivir” que ocupa el centro de las preocupaciones de Michel Foucault en su enseñanza de los años 1976-1980 reaparece en el “vivir afuera” de una de las novelas latinoamericanas que, en la última década del milenio, más lejos se internó en las multiplicidades abiertas de la vida para volver visible lo que fue, en sus orígenes, el dispositivo neoliberal de dominación social. Se trata de Vivir afuera (1998), de Rodolfo Fogwill, una de las novelas de fin de siglo que se desplaza de un sistema de espacios a un sistema de cuerpos para hacer ver, en una inquietante continuidad con el terror represivo de los años 70, las transformaciones de un poder que se ejerce sobre la materia viviente de un nuevo sujeto “biopolítico”: la población.
