Body, demand, enjoyment, and science are questioned and put at the service of psychoanalytic practice as fundamental sources of it and emphasizing on a double function: on the one hand, to tighten the discourse of medicine that supports a radical hegemony, and on the other, to provoke the practitioners of psychoanalysis to get out of that extraterritoriality in which they find themselves before that hegemonic discourse. Este trabajo presenta una lectura de la participación de Jacques Lacan en la mesa redonda del 16 de febrero de 1966 titulada “Psicoanálisis y medicina” en la cual examina conceptos que atraviesan la práctica médica y que se contraponen con el discurso del psicoanálisis. El cuerpo, la demanda, el goce, la ciencia quedan interpeladas y puestas al servicio de la práctica psicoanalítica siendo resortes fundamentales de la misma y apostando a una doble función: por un lado, tensar el discurso de la medicina que soporta una hegemonía radical y, por otro, provocar a los practicantes del psicoanálisis a salir de esa extraterritorialidad en la cual se ubican ante ese discurso hegemónico.
