I15-R203-article-6732023-02-14T14:21:18Z The Argentine-American bilateral relationship since J. Biden’s arrival at the White House:: a three-level approach La relación bilateral argentino-estadounidense desde la llegada de J. Biden a la Casa Blanca:: una aproximación en tres niveles Cavigliasso, Nicolás Argentina United States Constructivism Foreign Policy Crisis Argentina Estados Unidos Constructivismo Política Exterior Crisis The bilateral relationship between Argentina and the United States is as complex as it is necessary to thoroughly understand. This article proposes a three-leveled constructivist approach –macrostructural, microstructural, and unit-level– to understand this relation during the Alberto Fernández administration in Argentina and since the arrival of Joseph Biden at the Oval Office. Among all the images of global, regional, and domestic crises, the Biden administration seems to be striving to regain North American global leadership. This would require Argentina to re-think its strategy to interact with the hemispheric hegemon. In this sense, the microstructure seems to shed light on certain convergences between both governments' belief systems, as well as indicates some cooperative components that would allow certain points of contact between their external agendas. However, microstructure also warns us about some challenges and limits to the bilateral relation.
