Thus, global warming could be the source of even more profound changes in the long term with impacts both on energy sector and on international relations. Then, the purpose of this article is to provide reflections on the kinds of insertion of Argentina in the world according to different scenarios of energy transition. The opportunities and challenges of valuing Vaca Muerta unconventional resources and natural resources allowing an energy mix with a low carbon footprint are analyzed. El alto impacto económico de la guerra de precios sobre los mercados petroleros lanzada el 9 de marzo de 2020 en medio de un contexto de incertidumbre por la crisis del COVID-19 debería alentarnos a replantear los fundamentos de nuestra política energética. En este sentido, el calentamiento global podría ser la causa de cambios aun más profundos a largo plazo con impactos tanto sobre el sector energético como sobre las relaciones internacionales. El presente artículo tiene entonces como propósito, aportar reflexiones sobre los tipos de inserción de la Argentina en el mundo según distintos escenarios de transición energética. Se analiza en particular las oportunidades y desafíos de la puesta en valor de los recursos no convencionales de Vaca Muerta y de los recursos naturales permitiendo una matriz energética con baja huella de carbono.
