Sumario:The article examines how some history and geography school texts or manuals represent the role of women through stories and illustrations. Particularly, it focuses on the history texts used in the school system corresponding to the second cycle of Basic General Education. The study developed from a qualitative approach with a documentary design that analyzes the contents of school textbooks, published between 2014 and 2021 by different publishers, 4 of them examined in this article corresponding to the year 2019. The data obtained shows that school texts do not include current feminist approaches or the gender perspectives installed in recent years, showing that the teaching of history in basic education is androcentric and Eurocentric, which does not incorporate theoretical and gender approaches nor current references.
