This experience recovered the legacy of pioneers in participatory housing architecture by means of the adjustment of its methodological key points to a series of intensive work dynamics in the site. Departing from the participant observation, the critical assessment of documentation and the reconstruction of the process through testimonies of key informants, this article reconstructs the dynamics implemented in the territory to contrast pre-established theoretical categories. As a contribution to future participatory initiatives of similar magnitude and socio-environmental complexity, the importance of a state-backed collaborative approach is emphasized. This ensures a space for fluent dialogue and attentive listening being essential for the emergence of claims not only regarding infrastructure and functional aspects but also the desires and preferences of the local neighbors.
