description This article aims to present the results from a research carried out between 2015-2017, which its main objective was to explore intercultural relationships among migrants and Argentinians who live in Buenos Aires City. Buenos Aires City’s districts with the most and the fewest quantity of migrant population were analysed in order to study social segregation and its rapport with migration diversity at school. The main questions, among others, were: In what way does migratory diversity at school involve conflictive relationships? Which differences exist in education depending on students being natives or migrants? How do they vary among districts if sociodemographic aspects are taken into account? Which are the main characteristics of this social segregation process and how does it impact on the educational institutions? Interviews with teachers from public schools and desk-research were analysed from a qualitative methodology. The speeches’ content analysis emerged from both sources was led using the interpretive perspective. As a consequence, the empirical material shed light on the tension between the schools’ objective on migrant’s integration and speeches and actions that keep exclusion going on.
