For this purpose, a study was carried out in 26 hotel units using the InnoViTech VT methodology, which involves the identification of needs, through the collection of information, its analysis and the dissemination of the model. Academic studies and specialised documents on Technology Watch were consulted, as well as VT models applied in different sectors. It was also explored by means of a search equation in various databases, both documentary and news, trends and registration and check-in applications. The analysis revealed three trends for the hotel sector: 1) mobile applications and hotel information systems, 2) facial recognition and 3) web check and digital adoption. These technologies offer benefits such as personalisation of the customer experience, optimisation of operational processes and improved security. In addition, patents related to these technologies were identified, highlighting their relevance in the hotel industry. La presente investigación, se centra en la gestión del conocimiento a través de la Vigilancia Tecnológica (VT) e Inteligencia Estratégica (IE) para identificar tendencias innovadoras en tecnologías sostenibles para el registro y check-in de huéspedes en el sector hotelero del municipio de Ipiales, Colombia. Para este propósito, se llevó a cabo un estudio en 26 unidades hoteleras utilizando la metodología de VT InnoViTech, que implica la identificación de necesidades, pasando por la recolección de información, su análisis y la difusión del modelo. Se consultaron estudios académicos y documentos especializados sobre Vigilancia Tecnológica, así como modelos de VT aplicados en diferentes sectores. También se exploró mediante una ecuación de búsqueda, en diversas bases de datos, tanto documentales como de noticias, tendencias y aplicaciones de registro y check-in. El análisis reveló tres tendencias para el sector hotelero: 1) aplicaciones móviles y sistemas de información hotelera, 2) reconocimiento facial y 3) web check y adopción digital. Estas tecnologías ofrecen ventajas como personalización de la experiencia del cliente, optimización de procesos operativos y mejora de la seguridad.
