description In the present work we make a situated reading of the notions of youth and rurality from a field work carried out in the rural territory of Malargüe (Mendoza, Argentina). We start from the assumption that, whether by integration, adaptation or resistance to the conditions imposed, peasant families are redefined by the exclusion denoted by their rurality. We return to the notion of internal colonialism to describe the forms of exclusion experienced by transhumant youth who inhabit peripheral rural spaces.
