description This paper deals with the story signed by Guimarães Rosa (Primeiras estórias, 1962) regarding the interest that author said, at decisive moments in their production, by the theories of the fourth dimension. The essay attempts to articulate that interest with the Rosiana derived from a tout court cosmopolitanism to a cosmopolitanism located, that the question of identity, far from erased, is strengthened with contemporary theories of space-time, while the text does not it is presented more as the representation of a given reality but as its file. Beyond understanding of history as a unique development, writing studied from the perspective adopted by work, postulates a temporality without preferred directionality, always dependent on frameworks, which prevents think that writing on the terms of a universal measure of value for cultural phenomena.
