description This paper analyzes the mechanisms of inclusion/exclusion that take place in the process of professionalization of women artists, considering two particular moments in the history of the arts in Argentina. It is considered in the first instance the painter Raquel Forner (1902-1988), leading figure of modern art in Argentina. We will focus on its beginnings as a professional artist, and the efforts being undertaken to establish itself as such, in a society crossed by the ideology of domesticity. The second stage takes us to the creation and performance of music in today's Argentina, and a process of professionalization that results in the incorporation of artists to the teaching. We question if this is a kind of artistic production that, far from commercial channels, functions as a leisure time activity. Analyzing how in this case the time dimension will be traversed by the generic asymmetries.
