The trips to the Cuban Revolution, which began even before the triumph of January 1959, are part of this tradition. Many of the most renowned Latin American writers and journalists produced notable chronicles of their Cuban experience; experience whose effect, naturally, would be modified with the passage of time. The ones born from the trips to the Cuba of the 21st century, already far from the enthusiasm of the first revolutionary times, are addressed here. A tour of several of the “Cuban” chronicles of this century gives an account of the diverse perceptions generated by this unique country, as well as the particular views of those who write it. Telling about the Havana of the 21st century is an experience that goes beyond a specific city to also speak to us about a political project and the position that is assumed with respect to it.
