On the second part, we reflect on the fact that there is an alleged impossibility of generating "terror" inargentinean literature by comparing the novel Beber en rojo (2001) by Alberto Laiseca, thatwe believe confirms that assumption, and another that denies it: Nuestra parte de noche(2019) by Mariana Enríquez. Before the conclusions, we consider how these issues arisetoo in the field of Argentinean cinema.We ask ourselves how the critical reading of these incursions in terror may be able toenrich Berardi's hypothesis. Our methodology is based on critical and comparative readingand is complemented with the perspective of cultural studies. Proponemos un recorrido por la narrativa de terror argentina en diálogo con la noción dedevenir americano (Berardi, 2017). En la primera parte, establecemos una lectura crítica ycomparativa de tres textos: "El niño proletario" (1973), de Osvaldo Lamborghini; El malmenor (1996), de Charlie Feiling; y "El chico sucio" (2016), de Mariana Enriquez. En lasegunda parte, reflexionamos en torno a la supuesta imposibilidad de generar terror en laliteratura argentina. Con ese objetivo, comparamos una novela que confirma dicha tesis,Beber en rojo (2001), de Alberto Laiseca, con otra que la niega, Nuestra parte de noche(2019), de Mariana Enriquez. Antes de las conclusiones, nos planteamos cómo sedesarrollan estas cuestiones en el ámbito del cine de género argentino.En líneas generales, nos preguntamos en qué grado una lectura crítica de estas incursionesen el terror puede ser capaz de dar densidad a la hipótesis de Berardi. Nuestra metodologíase basa en la lectura crítica y comparativa, y se complementa con la perspectiva de losestudios culturales.
