The objective of the study aimed to demonstrate the contributions of results evaluation for prospecting research, through the explanation of the case study conducted at the Veterinary School at the National University of Costa Rica in the year 2033, in order to assess its limitations and contributions as a method. The theoretical framework that delimited the study was based on the concept of Foresight, which is a tool that explores trends shaping the future of science and technology, contributing to scientific and technological planning and decision-making (Martin, 2010). The methodology employed was of a mixed nature, combining bibliometric techniques for scientific production analysis, as well as the application of expert panels, the Reigner's abacus, and the construction of scenarios for the year 2033 at the Veterinary School. As part of the results, 5 research areas were identified for further development: public health, basic sciences, development and innovation, medicine and surgery, and reproduction. Scenarios were envisioned for each of these areas, and research lines were delineated. |

El objetivo del estudio pretendió mostrar los aportes de la evaluación de resultados para prospectar la investigación, por medio de la explicación del estudio de caso realizado en la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad Nacional en Costa Rica al año 2033, a fin de valorar sus limitaciones y aportes como método. El campo teórico que delimitó el estudio se fundamentó en el concepto de Foresight, el cual es una herramienta que explora las tendencias que cambian el futuro de la ciencia y la tecnología, aportando a la planificación y la toma de decisiones científicas y tecnológicas (Martin, 2010). La metodología desarrollada fue de carácter mixto, combinando técnicas bibliométricas de la producción científica, así como la aplicación de paneles de personas expertas, el ábaco de Reigner y la construcción de escenarios al 2033 en la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria. Como parte de los resultados, se visualizan 5 áreas de investigación por desarrollar: salud pública, ciencias básicas, desarrollo e innovación, medicina y cirugía y reproducción; se visualizaron escenarios en cada una de estas áreas y se delimitaron líneas de investigación. O objetivo do estudo buscou evidenciar as contribuições da avaliação de resultados para prospectar a pesquisa, por meio da explicação do estudo de caso realizado na Escola de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Nacional da Costa Rica no ano de 2033, a fim de avaliar suas limitações e contribuições como método. O campo teórico que delimitou o estudo fundamentou-se no conceito de Foresight, o qual é uma ferramenta que explora as tendências que moldam o futuro da ciência e da tecnologia, contribuindo para o planejamento e a tomada de decisões científicas e tecnológicas (Martin, 2010). A metodologia desenvolvida foi de natureza mista, combinando técnicas bibliométricas de análise da produção científica, assim como a aplicação de painéis de especialistas, o ábaco de Reigner e a construção de cenários para o ano de 2033 na Escola de Medicina Veterinária.
