Based on ethnographic records of repeated visits to the files archive of the Río Negro province (Argentina) Fiscal Lands Office, in this article I analyze the assumptions about identity, territory, and losses, expressed in the daily functioning of said institution, as well as the disputes that the Mapuche people establish around them. The analysis of daily comments, uses of the category “poblador disperso” and the archiving policies lead me to state that the fiscal land regime operates as a dispositif that regulates their inhabitants, naturalizes the perpetuity of the fiscal character of the land, denies the actions of the State in the production of forced displacements and constructs the loss ⸺of identity, of documents, of territory⸺ as a natural and irreversible path. In opposition to the official policies that make the privatization of the territory possible, many Mapuche people retrace the losses through practices aimed at recovering memories, documents, territories and belongings, which mobilized the searches that I analyze here. |

A partir del registro etnográfico de reiteradas visitas al archivo de expedientes de la Dirección de Tierras Fiscales de la provincia de Río Negro (Argentina), en este artículo analizo los supuestos sobre la identidad, el territorio y las pérdidas, expresados en el funcionamiento cotidiano de dicha institución, así como las disputas que el pueblo mapuche establece en torno a ellas. El análisis de comentarios cotidianos, de usos de la categoría “poblador disperso” y de las políticas de archivo me llevan a plantear que el régimen de tierras fiscales opera como un dispositivo que regula a quienes las habitan, naturaliza la perpetuidad del carácter fiscal de las tierras, niega el accionar del Estado en la producción de desplazamientos forzados y construye a la pérdida ⸺de identidad, de documentos, de territorio⸺ como un camino natural e irreversible. En oposición a las políticas oficiales que posibilitan la privatización del territorio, muchas personas y colectivos mapuche desandan las pérdidas mediante prácticas orientadas a recuperar memorias, documentos, territorios y pertenencias, las cuales movilizaron las búsquedas que aquí analizo. Com base no registro etnográfico de repetidas visitas ao arquivo de registros da Diretoria de Terras Fiscais da província de Río Negro (Argentina), neste artigo analiso os pressupostos sobre identidade, território e perda expressos no funcionamento diário dessa instituição, bem como as disputas que o povo mapuche estabelece em torno deles. A análise dos comentários cotidianos, o uso da categoria "colono disperso" e as políticas de arquivamento me levam a argumentar que o regime de terras fiscais opera como um dispositivo que regula aqueles que as habitam, naturaliza a perpetuidade da natureza fiscal das terras, nega as ações do Estado na produção de deslocamentos forçados e constrói a perda de ⸺identidade, documentos e território⸺ como um caminho natural e irreversível. Em oposição às políticas oficiais que permitem a privatização do território, muitos indivíduos e coletivos mapuches reconstituem as perdas por meio de práticas que visam à recuperação de memórias, documentos, territórios e pertences, o que mobilizou as buscas que analiso aqui.
