| Sumario: | The Islamic burial issue in Spain, and in many other Western European countries, is one of the main needs and demands of Muslim communities and their citizens in general. In the case of Spain, these demands are various: to be able to have a place to bury their deceased in accordance with Islamic practices, or the improvement and adaptation of the enclosures or better public management. This paper classifies the different types of Muslim cemeteries in Spain and analyses their current situation. This text classifies the different types of Muslim cemeteries in Spain and analyses their current situation. Finally, based on three case studies, this article analyses the processes of claiming the Islamic funerary issue, and the different dynamics of the actors who own the land and the citizens. |
