description This paper brings together two ethnographic investigations concerned with the production of socio-festive performances in the city of Córdoba. One of the researches analyses the circuits of drag queen art world and practices of transformism, while the other one asks about the production of consensus among BDSM practitioners. We found a point of dialogue between the two empirical universes in a set of events called elections, where a group of candidates applied to be evaluated by a jury and were judged the winners. From this crossroads, we asked ourselves about the relations between gender, corporeality and performance that intersected these festive and competitive nights. In order to do so, we first looked at some works that considered the effects that beauty contests and competitions produced in the social universes where they were organized, and then recovered our own ethnographic experiences from these debates. Considering the place that these performances occupied in those worlds and in the subjectivity of their participants, we asked ourselves: what was exhibited and judged in these events, and what were the effects produced by these instances as social performances?

Este trabajo reúne dos investigaciones etnográficas preocupadas por indagar en la producción de performances socio-festivas en la ciudad de Córdoba. Una de las pesquisas analiza los circuitos del mundo del arte drag queen y las prácticas del transformismo, mientras que la otra se pregunta por la producción de consensos entre practicantes de BDSM. Encontramos un punto de diálogo entre ambos universos empíricos a partir de un conjunto de eventos denominados elecciones, donde un grupo de candidatas se postulaban para ser evaluadas por un jurado y resultar ganadoras. Desde este cruce nos preguntamos por las relaciones entre género, corporalidad y performance que atravesaban estas noches festivas y competitivas. Para ello, primero indagamos en algunos trabajos que consideraron los efectos que los certámenes y concursos de belleza producían en los universos sociales donde eran organizados, para luego recuperar nuestras propias experiencias etnográficas desde estos debates. Teniendo en cuenta el lugar que estas performances ocupaban en aquellos mundos y en la subjetividad de sus participantes, nos preguntamos: ¿qué era exhibido y juzgado en estos eventos? y ¿cuáles eran los efectos que producían estas instancias en tanto performances sociales? Este documento reúne duas investigações etnográficas preocupadas com a produção de performances sócio-festivas na cidade de Córdoba. Uma das pesquisas analisa os circuitos do mundo da drag queen art e as práticas de transformismo, enquanto a outra pergunta sobre a produção de consenso entre os praticantes de BDSM. Encontramos um ponto de diálogo entre os dois universos empíricos em um conjunto de eventos chamados eleições, onde um grupo de candidatos se candidatou para ser avaliado por um júri e foram julgados os vencedores. A partir deste cruzamento, nos perguntamos sobre as relações entre gênero, corporeidade e performance que estavam presentes nestas noites festivas e competitivas. Para isso, primeiro examinamos alguns trabalhos que consideraram os efeitos que os concursos e concursos de beleza produziram nos universos sociais onde foram organizados, e depois recuperamos nossas próprias experiências etnográficas a partir desses debates. Levando em conta o lugar que essas performances ocupavam nesses mundos e na subjetividade de seus participantes, nos perguntamos: o que foi exibido e julgado nesses eventos, e quais foram os efeitos produzidos por essas instâncias como performances sociais?
