The emotional connection between people and the places they inhabit is crucial in the design, intervention, and understanding of urban spaces. This article aims to capture Foucault's notions of heterotopia as a theoretical framework to address attachment to place in the material and symbolic reality of postmodern cities. The article investigates the theoretical and conceptual interconnections between the dimensions of attachment to place and heterotopias and and its implications at the city scale. The problem addressed stems from the scarce research on the construction of attachment to place in heterotopic spaces. The characterization of an urban park in the city of Monterrey as a heterotopia is presented, along with its significance for studying attachment to place in this environment. The results highlight the importance of an analysis from heterotopic spaces as a strategy to understand the functioning of attachment to place in the complexity of postmodern cities. A valuable contribution is provided in the considerations for studying the role of attachment to place as a dynamic and multiscale phenomenon in today's society. |

El vínculo emocional entre las personas y los lugares que habitan es crucial en el diseño, intervención y comprensión de espacios urbanos. El artículo busca captar las nociones de Foucault sobre la heterotopía como marco teórico para abordar el apego al lugar en la realidad material y simbólica de las ciudades postmodernas. Este artículo investiga las interconexiones teóricas y conceptuales entre las dimensiones del apego al lugar y las heterotopías y sus implicaciones a escala ciudad. El problema abordado se deriva de la escasa investigación sobre la construcción de apego al lugar en espacios heterotópicos. Se presenta la caracterización de un parque urbano de la ciudad de Monterrey como una heterotopía y las connotaciones para el estudio del apego al lugar en este entorno. Los resultados resaltan la importancia de un análisis desde heterotopías urbanas como estrategia para comprender el funcionamiento del apego al lugar en la complejidad de las ciudades postmodernas. Se proporciona una valiosa contribución en las consideraciones para estudiar el papel del apego al lugar como un fenómeno dinámico y multiescalar en la sociedad actual. Este artigo investiga as interconexões teóricas e conceituais entre as dimensões de apego ao lugar e heterotopias de compensação e como elas podem afetar positivamente esse fenômeno na escala da cidade. O problema abordado decorre da escassa pesquisa sobre a construção do apego ao lugar em espaços heterotópicos. Apresenta-se a caracterização de um parque urbano da cidade de Monterrey como uma heterotopia e as implicações para o estudo da vinculação do lugar neste ambiente. Os resultados destacam a importância de uma análise a partir das heterotopias urbanas como estratégia para compreender o funcionamento do apego ao lugar na complexidade das cidades pós-modernas.
